Founded in 1995 by ‘accidental environmentalist’ Julia Grieve, Preloved is an eco-friendly clothing brand based out of Toronto, Canada. They create unique and fashionable pieces from recycled materials and deadstock. The team at Preloved engaged Rêveur to support them in improving their client acquisition, revenue and sales through paid media on Google and Meta ads as well as general marketing consultation.

 

The Challenge

Preloved wanted to scale revenue year over year without sacrificing efficiency, especially during high-impact retail moments like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Boxing Day. The priority was profitable growth rather than increasing spend for its own sake.

The Strategy

We focused on efficiency-first scaling by:

  • Refining creative strategy with a strong emphasis on emotional, story-led Reels and Dynamic Product Ads

  • Optimizing campaign structure and targeting to improve CPA and conversion quality

  • Using Meta to build demand and brand connection, while Google Ads captured high-intent and retargeting traffic

  • Increasing budgets strategically during peak periods only after performance data confirmed campaigns could scale profitably

Google Ads

  • ROAS remained strong at approximately 6x, even while scaling spend

With only a modest increase in investment, Preloved more than doubled revenue across paid channels. The growth was driven by smarter creative decisions and improved campaign structure rather than aggressive budget increases.

Q4 2024: Peak Performance at Scale

Q4 2024 was Preloved’s most profitable quarter of the year, delivering a combined ROAS of 11.3x.

  • Meta led results through Reel-based storytelling and Dynamic Product Ads, achieving CPAs as low as $12.77

  • Google Ads supported lower-funnel conversions through branded search and retargeting, delivering 10.3x ROAS

  • Boxing Day was the highest-performing week of the year, generating approximately $8K in revenue from 53 orders

  • Strong Q4 engagement carried into January, indicating lasting brand impact and improved retention

What Made It Work
